Over the course of two workshops, we will explore our regency to public space, and the visual representations around us. Participants will share experiences through writing, visual responses and image-making.

This is a participatory workshop, be ready to share and create with other folks present in the space.

Session #5: Intervention in Public Space

When: Sat. October 30, 2021 12- 3pm ET
Where: ZOOM

Hosts: Poupeh Missaghi, Mandana Mansouri, Farideh Sakhaeifar

In an intersection with what we have started together in session #4, we invited Poupeh Missaghi -  writer/ translator - to share her artistic process with us. Poupeh has been working with the subject matters that we discussed in our previous session together: the city, public space, and political life. In her recent experimental book, trans(re)lating house one, she uses archival material, personal narrative, memory, theory, and dreams to intervene and manipulate facts about a historical moment in the contemporary event in Iran. It is a privilege to have her share her process with us. She will be sharing excerpts from her book, followed by Q & A.
